A true classic, I must say. I've read the book once and seen the movie too many times to count (I can recite dialogues complete with actions!). I even own the two-disc special edition. The movie, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, had a cast that was made of the best (and hottest) you could get back then in 1983. Don't believe me?

From left to right:
Emilio Estevez played Two-Bit Matthews
Rob Lowe played Sodapop Curtis
C. Thomas Howell played Ponyboy Curtis
Matt Dillion played Dallas (Dally) Winston
Ralph Macchio played Johnny Cade (Do it for Johnny, man. Do it for Johnny!)

Tom Cruise played Steve Randle

Also, not pictured, is Diane Lane, who played Cherry Valance.

You really should see this movie if you haven't. Or at least read the book, written by S.E. Hinton.

Before my time wtf. The 80s weren't some kind of stone age era where no guys were attractive.

In my opinon, Two-Bit, Sodapop, Ponyboy (^////////^), Dally, and Darry are cute. In other words, everyone but Steve and Johnny are cute. But I like Johnny, so it's all good as long as you stay gold. xD

& I'm guessing this was before Tom Cruise had all the teeth work? Or not, it's just in the first picture they look... strange, unless it's just the face he's pulling.

Tom Cruise had special work done on his teeth to make them look so effed up because that is how they pictured the character.
