My best friend was once like that. She was all nice and friendly (and fake) around all these 'popular' girls. This, of course, made her 'known'. Arghhhh it really annoys me why people can't just be themselves. Why do they think they have to be someone else to gain friendship, at least thats what I think she calls it. -.-

Ugh, I hate that too. It's really annoying. Especially when people call themselves "popular" and call people losers.
It really gets on my nerves. I also hate it when they take your friends and make them theirs.
And they make it sooo "known" that they took your friend.

I dont really think popular is important though im kinda popular in my school.but , popular will cause a lots of people jealous or envy of u and maybe hate u!but,u dont have to worry bcoz if u r popular,there'll be a lots of friends that gonna helped u out and even the TEACHERS will support u ...

I think popularity is and isn't important, but it depends on what kind of popularity you're talking about. The kind of popularity we think of when we hear that word, and true popularity are two very different things.

The kind of popularity we think of when we hear the word "popularity," is just simply being well-known, not necessarilywell-liked. Many "popular" girls are flocked with people who act like they are their friend, but are really just trying to become more popular themselves. Inside, these girls are actually insecure, because every day they have to figure out which people are their real friends, and which people are just trying to become popular.

True popularity is the other way around. Maybe not everyone knows your name, but if you have friends who like and respect you, you are popular. Girls who are truly popular are happy and have fun, because they know the people that are their friends really are their friends. Truly popular girls are the ones who really have all the fun, even though the "popular" girls seem to.

But that's just my opinion. I also mainly used "girls" as the people in my post, because it is mainly girls that have the "popularity problem."

I dunno, I'm considered popular on kupika and I don't have to figure out which people are my real friends, but I guess my list of things I expect people to do as a friend of mine rather than an acquaintance is fairly solid and I don't have to surround myself with kupikans like popular girls at school would their schoolmates. There are so many kinds of popularity @.@
