I've been looking into getting a graphics tablet because my wrist is dying (not sure if it's repetitive strain injury or not but I don't wanna cause that anyway by using my little mouse to draw xD).
So far I've decided to get a little 4x6 wacom intuos3 (EDIT: OR 6x9 wacom bamboo fun - is the sensitivity on that comparable? 512 vs 1,024 levels..) to see if I'm so inclined to tablets before I shell out, but it made me curious. I've seen mini-discussions or even just mentions around here about tablets, so, do you have a tablet? Which one? Have you tried any others? Comparisons? Recommended brands, sizes? What do you use your tablet for? I can only assume most people here will use it for drawing XD anyone use it in MSN? Talk tablets! :3

You draw oekaki?
![]() I use a Wacom Bamboo Small. When it says 'small' it doesn't mean tiny. In fact, I bet it's more compact. It'sbig enough to fit my working handspace. The sensitivity is... Idk but sensitivity doesn't even work in oekaki. Works for me on PS though. And it's real cheap. $60 in Staples. Yeah I use it for drawing, recognition and photo editing.

I would more likely be using PS7 than I would a shi painter etc. but who knows? It's also a mouse with a mousepad *_* I can't use my little mouse in my bedroom due to a lack of compatible surfaces ('NO, mouse, I wanted to click over HERE, not ALLLLLLL THE WAY DOWN THERE' sort of thing, jumps around urgh). I think I'll buy the 'bamboo fun' one, I can always resell it anyway if I don't like it xD

I traced and coloured a few of my old drawings. I'm crap but I wanted to try it out, and I quite like the results considering XD ![]() ![]() lol you can tell where I got lazy... xDDDDDDD I was going to redo her hair and I was going to shade more crap but I cbf, I was just testing it out anyway heh. But oh mann I love this tablet, it's brilliant and only took me an hour, maybe less to get used to controlling it *_*

nah, Ranma is from Ranma 1/2 and the other one is on a badge I bought haha. I'm better at copying than freehand ._.
I put my scanned in sketch on the bottom layer and lowered its opacity then worked on a ZILLION new layers to trace and colour. I used pen but the lines are quite rough. I want to mess with image resolution (? (work on 300+ then shrink to 72) ) but PS7 doesn't like it :/

omfudge, there's a lot I don't know about you. [And that's surprising cos I stalk people for a living] :O But adorable!! I could hug her! I have no idea what Lolita is to be honest but I know it's cute stuff. So is that an original Lolita character or something? Nice font for the copyright. <33
Oh yeah, question. ^^ Are you using pen pressure right there? Cos I can't seem to know how to turn off pen pressure when I'm drawing 'toons' and it ends up looking like a really weird uneven lineart. And if you do have pen pressure then wow, your hands are skilled pressure-wise.

I'm glad you like it ^^;!
Lolita is, in (VERY) short, cupcake shaped skirts (sometimes A line for "classic" but it's still fluffed up underneath with a petticoat) and modest clothing cuts. :3 I have no clue about pressure sensitivity, I change my brush size depending on how small what I'm drawing is X) I don't think mine does, but your tablet software properties menu might have a sensitivity metre you can fiddle with~

You need to download Jtablet. http://sketchstudio.cellosoft.com/ And then the P button beside your canvas should work nicely. ![]() Terms you might needa know: Alpha = Transparency of pen |
